1. Jesus taught the Parable of the Sower to illustrate how people respond differently to God's word depending on the condition of their hearts. In the parable, seed represents God's word and soil represents the human heart.
2. The parable describes four types of soil - the path, rocky ground, among thorns, and good soil. Only the good soil, representing those who accept God's word with an open heart, bears fruit.
3. Jesus explained that the cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches can choke God's word in believers' hearts, making them unfruitful, like the thorny soil. To bear fruit, believers must let God's Spirit guide them

The document discusses the importance of understanding the Torah (Pentateuch/first five books of the Bible) as the foundational revelation from God and the basis for interpreting the rest of the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the New Covenant Scriptures. It asserts that Yahushua (Jesus) and the writers of the New Testament always pointed to the Torah as the source of their teachings and did not view the Torah as being replaced. Establishing the Torah as the scriptural foundation is necessary to properly understand God's word.
This document is a summary of a 3 part sermon on Satan's tactics. It discusses how Satan prefers to operate unnoticed, like US special ops, and that believers must put on the full armor of God. It notes that Satan is already defeated but wants believers to think he is as powerful as God. It warns that Satan uses counterfeits in the church through false teachers like Copeland, Hinn, and Crouch who teach heresies that are not biblical. The takeaway is to not fear Satan as he is limited by God, avoid compromising values, and beware of false teachers.

2) Moses is born and placed in a basket in the Nile river, where he is discovered and adopted by Pharaoh's daughter.
3) As an adult, Moses flees Egypt after killing an Egyptian taskmaster. He settles with the Midianites as a shepherd. At the burning bush, God appears to Moses as an angel and commands him to return to Egypt to demand Pharaoh free the Israelites.

This document provides guidance on preparing for and following up with people who make decisions to follow Christ after an evangelism event. It discusses praying for the hearts of those who will attend to be open, understanding different worldviews, clearly explaining the gospel, and mentoring new believers. Key points include praying to bind Satan's influence, having entry conversations to learn people's worldviews, explaining the biblical and historical context of the gospel message, and caring for new believers like nurturing children as described in 1 Thessalonians. The overall message is about spiritually preparing people's hearts beforehand and providing ongoing discipleship afterwards.
The document discusses overcoming fear through having a close relationship with God. It encourages enlarging one's vision, strengthening resolve, and not being afraid as God will be with believers. It suggests communicating with God daily through prayer, worship, and reading the Bible. Choosing God over the world and having faith, not fear, are keys to pleasing God and receiving his promises. Hidden sins can damage relationships with God and create fear, so confession and repentance are important.

Genesis 3 describes humanity's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden. Satan, disguised as a serpent, tempts Eve to eat fruit from the forbidden tree by sowing seeds of doubt in God's word. Eve then gives the fruit to Adam, and they immediately realize they are naked and ashamed. God questions Adam and Eve about their actions, but they blame each other and the serpent. God curses the serpent and prophecies that Eve's offspring (Jesus Christ) will one day defeat Satan. Their disobedience separates them from God and introduces sin, fear, and shame into the world.
This document discusses how to get the most value from attending church. It is divided into three sections: 1) Information - receiving information from God, such as through reading scripture. 2) Application - applying the information in our lives through wisdom and obedience. 3) Explanation - explaining the information through illustration, demonstration and teaching others, with the help of the Holy Spirit. The goal is to continue sharing both new and old knowledge from God.
This document discusses four cracks in the mortar that can weaken marriages: 1) prioritizing public opinion over God's commands, 2) changing theology to accommodate one's desires rather than changing one's life, 3) failing to consider delayed or eternal consequences of sin, and 4) seeking Christian approval over divine approval. The conclusion emphasizes that foundations are crumbling and Christians must be alert to issues that can damage their marriages.
The document discusses overcoming fear through having a close relationship with God. It encourages enlarging one's vision, strengthening resolve, and not being afraid as God will be with believers. It highlights how Joshua overcame fear by learning from Moses' example of walking closely with God. It emphasizes choosing God over the world by having faith in Him through prayer, God's word, and making Him the priority in decisions. Sin creates fear but confessing and repenting restores fellowship with God.

- Jacob taught from the writings of Isaiah about the history and destiny of Israel. He discussed their scattering after rejecting Jesus Christ, and their future gathering when they come to believe in their Redeemer.
- The principles of Israel's gathering include believing in Jesus Christ, repenting, being baptized, receiving the Holy Ghost, and keeping God's commandments. Missionary work will lead many Jews to this knowledge and result in their gathering.
Discerning Between True and False GuidancePeter Hammond
1) God speaks to us through Scripture, visions, dreams, angels, circumstances He orchestrates, our conscience, wise counsel of believers, songs/hymns, and spiritual gifts.
2) To hear God's voice requires having faith, a clean heart through confession of sin, worshipping Him, and applying Christ's lordship to all areas of life.
3) Scripture commands believers to listen for God's voice in order to know His will, deepen our relationship with Him, and understand His character.
The document provides an overview of the book of Revelation. It begins by outlining the purpose of Revelation as told to John by Jesus: to write down what he has seen, what is currently happening, and what will happen in the future. The key is then given that Revelation contains visions from God, not in chronological order, with sevens appearing frequently and a pause between the sixth and seventh seals/trumpets. The overview then examines each vision: the things John has seen in chapter 1, the letters to the seven churches as the current state in chapters 2-3, God and Jesus' glory in chapters 4-5, and the things to come after in chapters 6-22 involving seals, trumpets, Satan
Genesis 3 describes humanity's fall from grace in the Garden of Eden through Satan's temptation of Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. God punishes humanity for their disobedience by cursing the ground and instituting physical death. He also curses Satan, promising future conflict between Satan's seed and the woman's seed that will result in Christ defeating Satan. The chapter establishes the fundamental problem of sin and separation from God in humanity and sets the stage for God's plan of salvation through Christ.
The document discusses dwelling in God's word and the benefits it provides. It states that dwelling in God's word gives you power over temptation, freedom from hurts, and leads to prosperity, joy, and eternal life. It identifies that the Word is Jesus Christ, and that by making Him your dwelling place, God will protect you and command angels to guard you. The overall message is that by dwelling in God's word, your world will be changed.
Solomon warns his son to avoid following sinners into sinful acts like violence, theft, and greed. He describes how sinners will try to entice others to join in their evil plans by making promises of wealth and shared profits. However, Solomon cautions that the innocent will be harmed, and any riches obtained through sin will not last. He advises his son to stay far from such wicked schemes and keep his feet from the path of sinners.

This document discusses the topic of deception and warns of its dangers. It provides several biblical examples of deception, including how the enemy sowed tares while men slept in the parable of the wheat and tares, how Saul disobeyed God by sparing the Amalekite king and cattle, and how the Samaritans combined the worship of God with other gods after being exiled. The document emphasizes that deception will be a major sign of the end times, mentioning it is mentioned three times in Jesus' warnings in Matthew 24. It exhorts readers to avoid deception through diligently following God's word and not being swayed by false doctrines.
God speaks to His people in many ways, including audibly, through visions, dreams, angels, circumstances, and the conviction of our conscience. However, the primary way God guides us is through studying and meditating on His Word, the Bible. It is important to discern God's voice from other influences and not be deceived. We should seek guidance from dedicated Christians and apply the principles of Scripture to our lives daily.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

6. Lesson 36 Objectives
1. Read the story of a
people whose faith was
stretched to the breaking
point as they awaited the
birth of Jesus Christ.
2. Study how Lachoneus
and his people struggled to
remain faithful in a wicked
world.

withstand temptation
8. Helaman 16:7-8
7 And as they went forth to lay their hands
on him, behold, he did cast himself down
from the wall, and did flee out of their
lands, yea, even unto his own country, and
began to preach and to prophesy among
his own people.
8 And behold, he was never heard of more
among the Nephites; and thus were the
affairs of the people.
9. 3 Nephi 1:2-3
And Nephi the son of Helaman, had departed out
of the land of Zarahemla, giving charge unto his
son Nephi, who was his eldest son, concerning the
plates of brass, and all the records which had been
kept, and all those things which had been kept
sacred from the departure of Lehi out of
Jerusalem.
Then he departed out of the land, and whither he
went, no man knoweth; and his son Nephi did
keep the records in his stead, yea, the record of
this people.
10. 3 Nephi 1:5-7
But there were some who began to say that the
time was past for the words to be fulfilled, which
were spoken by Samuel the Lamanite. And they
began to rejoice over their brethren saying, “Behold
the time is past and the words of Samuel are not
fulfilled; therefore, your joy and your faith
concerning this thing has been in vain. And it came
to pass that they did make a great uproar
throughout the land and the people who believed
began to be very sorrowful, lest by any means
those things which had been spoken might not
come to pass.
11. 3 Nephi 1:8
But behold, they did watch
steadfastly for that day
and that night and that day
which should be as one
day as if there were no
night that they might know
that their faith had not
been in vain.
12. 3 Nephi 1:9
Now it came to pass that there was
a day set apart by the unbelievers,
that all those who believed in those
traditions should be put to death
except the sign should come to
pass, which had been given by
Samuel the prophet.
15. 3 Nephi 1:15-17
And it came to pass that the words
which came unto Nephi were fulfilled,
according as they had been spoken;
for behold, at the going down of the
sun there was no darkness; and the
people began to be astonished
because there was no darkness when
the night came. And they began to
know that the Son of God must shortly
appear; yea, in fine, all the people
upon the face of the whole earth from
the west to the east both in the land
land north and in the land south, were
so exceedingly astonished that they
fell to the earth.
16. 3 Nephi 1: 26
“And thus the ninety and second
year did pass away, bringing glad
tidings unto the people because
of the signs which did come to
pass, according to the words of
the prophecy of all the holy
prophets.”
17. 3 Nephi 2:1
And it came to pass that thus passed away
the ninety and fifth year also, and the people
began to forget those signs and wonders
which they had heard, and began to be less
and less astonished at a sign or a wonder
from heaven, insomuch that they began to
be hard in their hearts, and blind in their
minds, and began to disbelieve all which
they had heard and seen—
18. 3 Nephi 2:11
And it came to pass in the
thirteenth year there began to
be wars and contentions
throughout all the land; for the
Gadianton robbers had
become so numerous and did
slay so many of the people,
and did spread so much death
and carnage throughout the
land that it became expedient
that all the people, both the
Nephites and the Lamanites
should take up arms against
them.
19. 3 Nephi 3:6-8
Therefore I write unto you, desiring that ye would yield up unto
this my people, your cities, your lands, and your possessions,
rather than that they should visit you with the sword and that
destruction should come upon you.
Or in other words, yield yourselves up unto us, and unite with
us and become acquainted with our secret works, and become
our brethren that ye may be like unto us—not our slaves, but
our brethren and partners of all our substance.
And behold, I swear unto you, if ye will do this, with an oath, ye
shall not be destroyed; but if ye will not do this, I swear unto
you with an oath, that on the morrow month I will command
that my armies shall come down against you, and they shall
not stay their hand and shall spare not, but shall slay you, and
shall let fall the sword upon you even until ye shall become
extinct.

against temptation
Scripture Defense
3 Nephi 3:12 Do not fear man
21. Do not fear man
“The fear of man lays
a snare but whoever
trusts in the Lord is
safe.” Proverbs 29:25
How might fear cause
someone to give in to
temptation?
22. Idolatry. When we care about what man thinks more than what God
thinks, we turn people into idols that we worship—seeking to please them in
order to earn their approval or respect.
Apathy. Fear man and you’ll quit taking risks because of the potential for
embarrassment or failure. If an endeavor is unlikely to succeed, you’ll never
take the chance. In other words, you’ll never do much of anything.
Dishonesty. It’s tough to speak truth into someone’s life because the
truth can be painful. If we fear somebody’s response, however, necessary
words will remain unsaid because we care more about ourselves being liked
than we do about keeping the commandments or speaking the words of God.
Decision Paralysis. When we live out of fear rather than out of
the convictions God has given us, we spin in circles unable to move forward .

24. Phillip Brooks
O, do not pray for easy
lives. Pray to be stronger
men! Do not pray for
tasks equal to your
powers. Pray for powers
equal to your tasks! Then
the doing of your work
shall be no miracle. But
you shall be the miracle.

Editor's Notes
Our Father in heaven does the same thing to you and to me that I used to do to my father’s guitar. He allows our lives to play out and throughout the process trials, temptation, and tribulations come along, each of which turn the screws and wrench the stings of our hearts a little bit tighter. And on occasion this process continues until we are certain that we cannot take anymore and that the very next temptation or trial will cause us to snap and to break. But to our Father in Heaven this is not a game…..
You can hear the mocking tone of the people and I am trying with my family to hold on to my faith and it is being stretched tighter and tighter as first friends and then family begin to give up and join the unbelievers.
What do you think we would have done as a family sitting on our front porch watching sunset. Maybe today we would say as we watched the sun disappear behind the mountains and then the darkness would settle in. Maybe tomorrow we would say. And then the next day we would watch as the sun set and the darkness came. I believe that all of us in this room know what it is like to have hopes raised and dashed and raised and dashed? With every setting sun it seems like the strings of the heart would be tightened.
While none of us has ever had our life threatened because of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ we all know what it is like to have our faith stretched to the breaking point. We have had bills we can’t pay, children who wander, friends and loved ones pass away, and serious illness that won’t quit. When you have been at this point, when your faith has been stretched to the limit, what has kept you from giving up and joining the unbelievers?
Imagine this time. The sun is setting, the moon has risen and instead of getting darker it is getting lighter, as light as noonday. If you listen carefully you can hear that sound. It is the sound of rejoicing, of weeping, the sound of people falling to their knees, of song, of faith being stretched to the breaking point and then finally being released.
